Rectangular, extremely light and soft to the touch, the Siltarp 1 is compact enough to fit in the corner of a small backpack.
It can be mounted on hiking sticks, suspended from trees or attached as a tent awning. Used as a bivouac, it allows you to keep your head in the air without the risk of wetting the interior of your camp.
The parachute nylon from which this tarpaulin is made does not stop water like fabrics coated with polyurethane, and therefore does not have an impermeability classification in millimetres. Impregnated with silicone, it is nevertheless water-repellent and will cause water to flow. When this extraordinary water repellent character is combined with a tight, sloping anchorage, the tarpaulin acquires waterproof properties, like an umbrella made of a fabric that is technically not waterproof but that provides excellent protection against rain.
