Pierre Beghin, homme affable et discret, auteur de textes et de photos remarquables, humaniste parfois rêveur, intellectuel aux capacités physiques hors norme, devenait un fauve en altitude, capable de l’engagement le plus total.
Description du produit
When he disappeared at the age of 41 in the south face of Annapurna, in the autumn of 1992, under the eyes of his rope mate, the very young Lafaille, Pierre Beghin was the most important of the French Himalayans.
Yet the general public does not know him. Trained at the hard school of Fontainebleau and Vercors, he quietly accumulated, in the 1970s, the first in the great alpine faces, often in winter, sometimes solo, from the Grandes Jorasses to the Ailefroide. In the 1980s, he became an internationally renowned research engineer for his work on avalanches.
He is then the singer of light expeditions and alpine style, in the footsteps of Messner.
