Each of these sixteen walks was designed by a hiker, almost all of them by one of the volunteers who maintain the waymarking of a GR trail throughout the year, that is to say by someone who knows every last path in their region inside out. Discoveries guaranteed!
Experienced hikers will find, in these original routes, plenty to enjoy on pleasant day outings. And even less seasoned walkers, or those who wish to discover the joys of hiking without overdoing it, will find, thanks to the numerous shortcut suggestions, the possibility of adapting their outing to their own aspirations.
Brabant Wallon, the smallest province in our country, stretches barely sixty kilometres from east to west and a maximum of twenty kilometres from north to south. But this modest territory, ideally situated in the centre of the country, is very well served by both roads and public transport.
The walks featured in this collection offer an incredible diversity of landscapes: vast rural expanses, peaceful valleys, numerous wooded areas, meadow crossings, a treasure trove of sunken lanes, footpaths and alleyways... and the paradox of an incredible sense of freedom, even though the city is never far away.
Hikers will never be bored here!
