The Mastia from Tenaya was designed to create an aggressive climbing shoe that offers maximum power for standing on small holds.
The Mastia is also a shoe that offers unrivaled responsiveness in all situations, a true concentration of possibilities for a shoe that juggles all terrains in perfect balance.
Its curved shape and two-part sole, combined with the cutting-edge SXR Dynamics and RBRX technologies, contribute to a more intuitive and efficient climbing style. The Mastia is equally at home on hard boulders as on vertical and overhung sport routes.
Its downturned toe allows for more effective use of thin cracks and many other "marginal" footholds found in difficult climbing routes.
Every design feature of the Mastia is calculated to the millimeter, from the seven different rubber formulations it uses to the carefully selected materials used on the upper. Its 3.5mm rubber outsole combines with a five-microlayer insole to provide optimal force transmission in all situations and allow the climber to feel closer to the rock. A perforated bellows tongue offers not only maximum breathability, but also quick on and off.
Nothing has been overlooked. Many previous design parameters have been modified for the heel section, introducing the "Friction Lock" technology, which allows precise adjustment and volume control in this part of the shoe, in order to achieve the best possible fit and performance for heel hooking situations.
On top of all this, Tenaya knows that performance is not optimal if a shoe is so painful that it cannot be worn for more than a few minutes at a time. The brand has therefore designed the Mastia to offer exceptional levels of comfort that will allow the climber to fully focus on their objective without distraction.
