On August 2, 2008, on K2, they were American, Swedish, Dutch, Spanish, French, Italian, Serbian, Korean. In this work, the authors place themselves from the perspective of the Nepalese sherpas and Pakistani porters, without whom the disaster would have been even more devastating.
They do not judge the behavior of Western or Asian mountaineers, but reveal the heroic acts of the sherpas at altitude and shed light on their immense talent, the strength and loyalty they demonstrated.
When most climbers were weakening on the descent from the summit of K2, the sherpas who had already descended to the last high-altitude camp were climbing back up to bring them rescue, once again risking their lives.
