The blade of this saw is thin and hard. It is unlike any other saw blade and requires special care. This saw has a pull-cut action. It therefore cannot bend during use. Make sure the blade is never jammed when you push it forward. It could break. When the blade is jammed, lift it to free it and resume your cut. As with any saw: let it do its work and do not force it. This requires less effort from you and increases the lifespan of the saw. The position of your hand on the handle changes how the wood is cut. When you hold the handle close to the blade, you apply little pressure and cut small amounts of wood. This allows you to perform more precise tasks. When you operate the saw with your hand far from the blade, you saw faster but with much less precision.
When the packaging of your Silky saw displays the induction symbol, it means the blade has been induction-hardened. You will therefore not be able to sharpen the teeth with a file. You can verify this on the saw itself by checking whether the teeth are black.
Silky saw blades must be kept clean for optimum performance. Resin dissolves with olive oil, an effective and eco-friendly way to clean your saw blade. Please note that more aggressive cleaning products may damage the rubber handle.
When not using your saw, make sure to store it clean in its case and in a dry place.
