Building on the success of his previous works, Pierre Millon has returned to the drawing board to craft a new volume, updated and accompanied by some previously unpublished routes, including those of the Swiss Val Ferret, the Italian Val Ferret and Val Veni, very close to our borders and perfectly in keeping with this thrilling pursuit!
The symbolism of vertigo goes beyond simple hiking, to access the emotions experienced by climbers of great summits or, unconsciously, to rediscover the sporting atmosphere of the mountain races of one's youth. Not in a sickly vertigo, closer to blind panic than to the pleasure of contemplation, but in an "alpine" vertigo, born from the desire to become part of the grandiose tableau of mountain nature. The tone will be rather playful, without denying the necessary dimension of effort.
This book is therefore aimed at experienced hikers, those whom trail guides readily describe as "experienced walkers" with "sure footing". And the challenge is not always easy!
