GR 121 De Liège à la Côte d’Opale (Parcours Belge)

A main route of 300 km, passing through Brussels. A reduced route of 265 km if the variant via Nivelles is taken. 

The GR 121 crosses the vast expanses of Hesbaye, Brabant and Hainaut. Amidst the large crops and meadows, the landscapes are open, with far-reaching views. The skies are often magnificent. The farms are imposing. 

From time to time, a village, a castle, a wooded stretch, a watercourse or a canal provide different sensations for the hiker before they once again discover the almost meditative quality of the wide open spaces. 

Before reaching the Brussels suburbs, the GR 121 crosses the Sonian Forest, one of the most beautiful beech forests in Europe.
