In this guidebook, all peripheral areas are covered, such as Cuvier Ouest, Nord, Rempart, Merveille, Monts and Reconnaissance. The book covers the Fun Bloc with all the areas that are further from the car parks. The 49 left-hand areas are covered in detail, with more than 9000 boulders.
The work also includes circuits covering all levels. Whatever your level, there are truly superb circuits in this book, and most are very polished. As the circuits in this book are located in peripheral areas, the boulders are more spread out, so it is advisable to use an easily portable crash pad.
This book is very useful during a hot summer or a cool, dry winter. Many quiet areas are well sheltered by trees and therefore offer excellent shade during the hot periods of summer. In winter, without the leaves, the areas also dry out quickly to allow for superb climbing.
The guide uses a combination of maps and circuit diagrams, and the same design as FUN BLOC, with literally more than 1000 photo topos. These are particularly useful in the quieter areas, where you are literally alone. Additionally, most problems are rated according to the number of crash pads and spotters required. So, before venturing into the deep forest, you know in advance how many crash pads and spotters you need to bring. Very handy if you are bouldering solo and don't want to waste time visiting a problem that could be very dangerous. The coloured dots on the boulders mark the problems, with dots on the outside of the boulders indicating sit-down starts.
All useful campsites in the area are shown on the maps with details of the facilities. Wild camping in the forest is not permitted.
