Wild, rugged and endowed with exceptional scenery, Finale and its hinterland are magical and unique: white limestone cliffs emerging from lush, deep green vegetation where it is easy to get lost without a guide, rocky terraces that suddenly open up the horizon with landscapes that often end at the sea.

In the 1960s, still wearing mountain boots, a few alpinists discovered the vertical dimension of Finale. Since then, numerous route setters, climbers, authors and photographers have made Finale one of the most important climbing destinations in the world.
This third edition of Thomas's guidebook adds, after only 5 years, 21 crags, some new and others rediscovered, and has been produced using the latest technologies: aerial photos of the walls, QR codes with videos of the main crags, QR codes with GPS coordinates to reach the parking areas, GPS tracks for all approaches, in order to find the hidden paths in the dense woods of Finale.
This guide is the new edition of Finale Climbing, eleven years after the publication of the first; it is a precise, corrected, improved and expanded update.

Marco « Thomas » Tomassini (1971) started visiting Finale in the 1980s. His passion for the mountains and rock led him first to caving and then to climbing. In a short time, he also began to bolt climbing routes, particularly in the Finale area. Between 1993 and 1996, he became a caving instructor with the Società Speleologica Italiana, then a sport climbing instructor with the UISP and also an assistant instructor with the Italian Alpine Club. Finale and its many crags became his favourite area for climbing and bolting. Over the past 32 years, he has bolted, alone or with others, more than 600 routes of different lengths and grades. In July 2007, he published his first Finale guidebook entitled Finale by Thomas, which brings together the work he carried out over the previous two years in bolting and rebolting, photos, topos and texts. In 2009, he founded the association Tothemass with a group of friends. He continues tirelessly to bolt routes and in 2010, with the support of the Municipality of Finale Ligure and with his friend Jack, he redevelops and creates new sectors. During this period, he publishes Finale… non solo mare, which describes the many "non-hotel" accommodation options in the area and, with Versante Sud, Trails of Finale, the trekking and trail running guide. More recently, a new guide, Guidebook to the 4 towns, has been released: it is a tourist guide describing the four medieval villages of Noli, Varigotti, Finalborgo and Borgio Verezzi. Shortly afterwards, he publishes his first science-fiction novel, Il segreto della principessa Val.
