Easy Alpinism In Trentino And South Tyrol (Anglais)

A dream book for summit climbing enthusiasts: 283 routes have been selected from the most beautiful and imposing peaks of 43 mountain groups, divided into two volumes.  

The first volume is dedicated to the western valleys and describes 133 ascents selected from 19 mountain groups to the west of the Adige valley: Sesvenna Group, Venosta and Passiria Alps, Tessa Group, Western Breonia Alps, Sarentino Mountains, Ortles Group, Gavia Group, Cevedale Group, Maddalena Range, Mendola Range, Adamello Group, Presanella Group, Brenta Group, Cadria Group, Guard Mountains, Brescia Dolomites, Tremalzo Group, Monte Baldo and Pizzocolo Group.

All the routes described have been selected for the beauty of their panoramas and for their level of difficulty. Few routes present mountaineering difficulties above grade II, but not all ascents are simple hikes: some require a good knowledge of glacier travel, the use of via ferrata equipment as well as the ability to climb on rock. 

Finally, there are options for almost every season: in both volumes, we find routes that traverse the Alpine Arc at high altitude and on ice, to be tackled in summer, as well as routes located in mountain groups closer to the Po Plain, therefore achievable in late autumn or even during dry winters.

• Diego Filippi was born in 1967 and lives in Trento. High mountain guide and member of the Giorgio Graffer mountaineering school, where he participated in climbing courses as a young man. Since that course, he has never stopped climbing mountains. An expert on Val Sarca, he published the Arco Walls guide for Versante Sud, which is now in its fourth edition. He has always loved exploring and frequenting the mountains of South Tyrol in search of the best routes and ridges. He is particularly fond of the Tessa group and the Vedrette di Ries, where he has climbed numerous summits.
• Fabrizio Rattin , born in 1990, lives in Fiera di Primiero. Technical member of the Trentino Mountain Rescue and safety officer of AINE.VA (Snow and Avalanche Association). An eclectic enthusiast of mountain exploration in all its forms, he has opened numerous climbing routes on his native mountains such as the Lagorai and the Pale di San Martino. He loves climbing the most remote and little-known summits, particularly in the Cimonega groups and the Monti del Sole, as well as devising new ski mountaineering routes every winter.
