Main features
- XTP Footbed : the XTP (Extreme Thermal Protection) footbed is a special insole with an extremely high level of thermal insulation. It is built from a combination of highly insulating materials (Coolmax, Polyester) and a memory foam layer (synthetic fibers and resins) to provide excellent comfort. XTP footbeds are fitted to expedition and mountaineering models requiring protection against extreme cold.
- TLS : the TLS is a thermal insulation system using Thinsulate® to envelop the foot without thermal bridges. The Thinsulate® lining is applied with a minimum of adhesive to maximize insulating volume and warmth. The sole of the boot is also insulated using a triple thickness of Thinsulate® to prevent any heat loss to the ground. This is particularly important when using crampons. This lining, entirely composed of Thinsulate® extending under the foot, provides Boreal mountain boots with a significant heat gain.
- HFS (Heel Fit System) : trekking boots require optimal heel fit to prevent any movement leading to heavy friction and blisters. The HFS is an anatomically shaped system made from very high quality foam that holds the heel firmly and comfortably while adapting to each individual foot shape.
