GR sentiers - Sentiers des Abbayes Trappistes de Wallonie (2022)

The S.A.T. (Sentier des Abbayes Trappistes) connects the three Walloon abbeys where Trappist beers are brewed. The route, slightly modified, is divided into two sections, from Chimay to Rochefort (156 km) and from Rochefort to Orval (116 km), for a total of 272 km.

The trail links together the various waymarked sections (on GR) or (on GR de Pays) described in both directions. It can be completed at your own pace, according to your mood, your fitness level, the weather… alone, with family, with friends, whenever you wish.

This trail takes hikers from one Trappist abbey to the next, inviting them to discover their most celebrated beers. Here is a new opportunity to set out on the paths of Wallonia to explore the products and heritage of the three Trappist abbeys. Local products that the entire world envies us for! The Walloon Trappist beers are inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
