The REFLEX Mechanical Hitch is a device that can be attached to the middle of the line!
Gone are the days when you had to pull the entire length of the rope through the device during or before your ascent!
Main features
Designed to provide precise friction control, with a progressive decrease in friction, the REFLEX combines the familiar feel of descending with a prussik and the versatility of a mechanical device that can be attached mid-rope.
The REFLEX housing is equipped with a safety lock and L-links, meaning the rope can be inserted into the housing and then wound in a spiral around each link (instead of being threaded through). The upper link is fitted with a lock that firmly holds the rope inside the links during use.
Mid-line attachment has the advantage of not requiring climbers to pull the entire length of the rope through the device to install/remove the rope at the start or at any point during their ascent. This is particularly useful when using a rope with bulky end markings, which would otherwise need to be cut, resulting in the loss of the rope's identification/traceability information.
Mid-line attachment is also a game changer, offering additional possibilities for passing branches and changing position within the tree canopy!
Whether used in MRT or SRT systems, the REFLEX links provide constant friction control without requiring any additional hardware. This means the REFLEX can be used for SRT, without a lanyard or hitch!
This is ideal for climbers who want to maintain a simple and compact system, and it makes paying out slack easy.
For those who prefer to use the REFLEX with an APEX and an additional FLEX Tether, the REFLEX features attachment ports that offer versatile configuration options, as well as quick and easy transitions between configurations.
With its 200 kg rescue capacity, climbers can perform rescues without needing to add extra friction. If necessary, an APEX & FLEX Tether can be added for additional friction and control.
CE certified to EN 12841 standard, on EN 1891-A rope ø11-13 mm.
The REFLEX links adjust to provide consistent friction throughout the entire length of the rope, without needing to modify any settings.
The anti-twist link can be removed from the device by performing a series of well-thought-out operations. This allows for quick detachment without having to dismantle the climbing system or bridge configuration. Ideal for lunch breaks or when heading to the truck to retrieve additional equipment. The removable anti-twist link also offers more possibilities for passing through branches and allows for easy replacement of the link when worn.
The anti-twist link is designed to accommodate two carabiners. It is also possible to thread up to two bridge ropes directly through the link for a compact system.
- The REFLEX offers self-regulating, low-friction ascent with a choice of multiple pulling positions.
