Long-distance minimalists are looking for lightweight and ideally dual-use items. This tarpaulin-poncho meets both of these requirements by providing protection on the trail and at the camp.
Made from a soft, silky nylon canvas coated with silicone, it fits easily in a bag the size of a water bottle. Used as a poncho, it protects the front and back well, as well as the shoulders and arms over a length of about 75 cm. Pressure buttons keep it in place at the waist and thighs. The bottom edge has an adjustment cord to tighten the poncho under your backpack and around your waist in windy weather.
